How Lab Grown Diamonds Are Created
Lab-grown diamonds are produced through one of two scientifically proven methods
High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT)
This process replicates the high-pressure, high-temperature conditions found in the Earth's mantle. A small diamond seed is placed in carbon and subjected to extreme heat (over 1,500ยฐC) and pressure, causing carbon atoms to form around the seed and grow into a diamond.
Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD)
In this method, a diamond seed is placed in a plasma chamber and exposed to carbon-rich gases. The gases are ionized, and carbon atoms deposit onto the seed layer by layer, allowing the diamond to grow with exceptional precision and purity.
